Fine dining version of southeast Asian food! The mains blew me away, the duck was super tender and the skin was so crispy, and the clay pot rice was the best I’ve ever had, crunchy on the outside and super flavourful. Would go back just for the rice! Aru also has fancy Asian take on staples such as a hotdog and banh mi. Scallops were fresh on a crunchy base, and the wagyu tongue with bone marrow in betal leaf was another favourite for those that could stomach it. While tasty, probably wouldn’t bother with the oysters or raw beef again. Desserts were still delicious but nothing I’d order again, mains were the knockout. Honourable mention to the sourdough bread and butter.
