Fine Dining $$$
A creative dining experience located inside the Jackalope hotel. Starts off with a menu that you can scratch to reveal a riddle; if solved by the end of the meal you get a small treat!
Definitely had things I had never seen before, such as oyster toast, and fruit tin dessert.
Admire the creative whim of the chef; I would say he was less successful with the balance in entrees, but certainly enjoyed the mains and desserts.
The entrees looked better than they tasted. Also preferred the oysters served at neighbouring restaurant Rare Hare. The caviar was a lovely (but of course pricey) treat, served with truffle crumpets.
The duck and fish were beautifully cooked, could not fault! The cheese course looked amazing, but was quite a strong blue cheese, and could not eat too much. The potato bread was delicious, soft in the centre but crunchy on the outside like fried potato.
Dessert was simple and delicate, and definitely had a fun nostalgia factor.
All in all, a fun dinner, but flavour balance probably needs a bit of tweaking.
